Can Electricity Produce Heat?
(Sponsored Project Guide)
Introduction:

In physics we have learned that energy does not get lost. It is only changed or converted from one form to the other.

In this project we are trying to find out if electricity can produce heat. If electricity can produce heat, we can possibly use such heat in different forms for different purposes. For example we may make a battery operated lighter to start a flame when needed.

Science Project: Can electricity produce heat?

Material and instructions:

You can use a Simple Electric Circuit to determine if electricity can produce heat?

A simple electric circuit is a circuit made of a battery, a resistor and a switch connected to each other by wire in series. A resistor is any device (such as light-bulb or an electric motor) that consumes electricity.

Part of materials are available from MiniScience.com in the form of kit # KITSEC. Materials may also be ordered separately.
